Reading Now
I don’t know why I try to read more than one book at a time. I guess because different moods or places call for different types of books. Some books just sit in this status until I decide I’m not going to finish the book.
| I started reading Churchill’s History of the English-Speaking Peoples on May 28. | |
| I was given Software Estimation: Demystifying the Black Art by one of my coworkers (thanks, Gary!). Rather than look a gift horse in the mouth, or read too much into this gift, I’ll just be thankful and read it. It looks good. :-)
Started May 13. |

| I’m re-reading Philip Yancey’s Reaching for the Invisible God. Started May 9. | |
| I’ve had James the Brother of Jesus for years. I bought it shortly after reading Misquoting Jesus by Bart Ehrman. Although I’ve started it a couple of times, I’ve never finished it. It’s a long book. Too long, in fact. Robert Eisenman would have benefited from a co-author or an editor. The text wanders and repeats itself. The thesis of James is that the gospels have been overwritten to conceal the influence and important of Jesus’ brother during his life and after his death as the 12th disciple and the bishop of the Jerusalem church. |
