Quote of the Day — Joe Lieberman

Well, I say that the Democratic Party changed. The Democratic Party today was not the party it was in 2000. It’s not the Bill Clinton-Al Gore party, which was strong internationalists, strong on defense, pro-trade, pro-reform in our domestic government. It’s been effectively taken over by a small group on the left of the party that is protectionist, isolationist and basically will –and very, very hyperpartisan. So it pains me. I’m a Democrat who came to the party in the era of President John F. Kennedy. It’s a strange turn of the road when I find among the candidates running this year that the one, in my opinion, closest to the Kennedy legacy, the John F. Kennedy legacy, is John S. McCain. —Sen. Joe Lieberman

ATLAH: Obama is a Long-Legged Mac-Daddy

Okay, now this is more than a little ridiculous! A mac daddy? This is church?!

Warning: This is yet another pastor who believes in using coarse language from the pulpit.

Iraq, Five Years Later

Do you say “end it” or “win it”?

Your choice of words likely indicates which party you’ll vote for come November.

Feeling Blue

Florida’s Democratic Party announces no re-vote; Florida feels blue. Michigan still deciding…

Yeah, yeah, nothing groundbreaking here. I was looking for an excuse to try out Google Chart API’s new chart types.

Quote of the Day — Edwin Smith, Sequoia Voting Systems

As you have likely read in the news media, certain New Jersey election officials have stated that they plan to send to you one or more Sequoia Advantage voting machines for analysis. I want to make you aware that if the County does so, it violates their established Sequoia licensing Agreement for use of the voting system. Sequoia has also retained counsel to stop any infringement of our intellectual properties, including any non-compliant analysis. We will also take appropriate steps to protect against any publication of Sequoia software, its behavior, reports regarding same or any other infringement of our intellectual property. —Edwin Smith, VP, Compliance/Quality/Certification, Sequoia Voting Systems

From an e-mail to Ed Felten, a Professor of Computer Science and Public Affairs at Princeton University, and Director of Princeton’s Center for InfoTech Policy.

Way to go Sequoia Voting Systems. We certainly wouldn’t want someone making sure your electronic voting machines actually work.

Idiots…

Quote of the Day: Hillary Clinton

It doesn’t look bleak at all. I have a very close race with Senator Obama. There are elected delegates, caucus delegates and superdelegates, all for different reasons, and they’re all equal in their ability to cast their vote for whomever they choose. Even elected and caucus delegates are not required to stay with whomever they are pledged to. This is a very carefully constructed process that goes back years, and we’re going to follow the process. —Hillary Clinton

In other words, the Democratic primary is anything but.

It’s not often you get a case where there’s someone in the room with a higher hourly rate than the lawyers. —Mark Steyn

Quote of the Day: Obama Campaign

If they are defining downward spiral as a series of events in which the Clinton campaign has lost more votes, lost more contests and lost more delegates to us … I guess we will have to suffer this horribly painful slide all the way to the nomination and then on to the White House. —Obama Campaign

The Obama Campaign fisked a Clinton campaign e-mail. Looks like the gloves are off. Will voters respond favorably to an Obama who rolls in the mud with Clinton?
