ROFG

A while back, some people at church gave me basic instructions on the proper way to show support for a co-worker who had a death in the family. It’s probably a good thing I hadn’t read this Basic Instructions, first.

Thanks for Asking…

My day was great! So great, in fact, that I just have to share a small part of it with you.

This is what central Oregon was like earlier today. Enjoy! Wink

Introducing Snap Shots

I just installed a nice little tool on this site called Snap Shots that enhances links with visual previews of the destination site, interactive excerpts of Wikipedia articles, MySpace profiles, IMDb profiles and Amazon products, display inline videos, RSS, MP3s, photos, stock charts and more.

To see Snap Shots in action, move your mouse pointer over a Snap icon next to a link. Sometimes Snap Shots bring you the information you need, without your having to leave the site, while other times it lets you “look ahead,” before deciding if you want to follow a link or not.

Should you decide this is not for you, just click the Options icon in the upper right corner of the Snap Shot and opt-out.

Quote of the Day — Ashley

After what we’re doing here, everything sounds so easy. —Ashley

This wisdom came from Ashley during a telephone call this evening as she was describing what she wanted to do with her life.

G.A.S. Attack

PRS Mira Guitar

Oh my! That PRS Mira is a pretty guitar. Sounds nice and versatile, too. I haven’t seen any pricing, yet. Here’s hoping that a non-carved top, no binding, no birds PRS isn’t too expensive…

Line 6 Pod X3 Live

The Line 6 Pod X3 Live looks interesting, too. It’s priced another $100 over the Pod XT Live, but has a lot more features: two independent setups and effect chains and functionality for electric guitar, electric bass, acoustic guitar, and voice.

Oh, and G.A.S. is “gear acquisition syndrome.” I have the disease. Wink

Programmable Prank Calls

Woo hoo! Now you can have a computer place your prank phone calls for you. Better check that privacy policy first, though…

Missile Base for Sale — Alert Tom Cruise

Titan Missle Base

Once again, eBay comes through with the hot real estate. You can buy your very own Titan missile base in central Washington state for the low, low price of $1.5 million.

Someone tell Tom Cruise about the bargain. The Titan base is much less expensive than the $10 million some say Tom is planning to spend building a bunker under his Telluride estate to protect against the upcoming Xenu attack.

Life Lists — Before You Die

Kindergarten class 1957 by Ann Althouse under CC Attribution - Non Commercial license

I remember Kindergarten. We sat around low tables in little chairs. We took naps on thin mats. We had lots of recesses. We pulled each other around in a red wagon following a curvy line on the playground. We pushed creamy paint around on slick paper. We had special songs to sing whenever anyone showed up with new shoes or a haircut.

Posted on the wall near the teacher’s desk was our list. Down the left side was everyone’s name; across the top was a series of seemingly insurmountable tasks:

  • Tie my shoes
  • Write my name
  • Recite the alphabet
  • Use scissors
  • Skip
  • Say my address and phone number

The goal was for every student to complete the list. Continue reading ‘Life Lists — Before You Die’

Ouch!

After giving blood on Monday and getting three shots during lunch today, I’m starting to feel like a pin cushion.
